Not really - it feels like a pinch! The needle is small, thin, and it goes by quickly to decrease the possibility of pain. No numbing agents are needed.

There’s virtually zero downtime with these treatments. Neurotoxins are often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure,” since most patients return directly to work or normal activity immediately. Some redness and swelling may occur at the injection sites, but it usually subsides within a few hours. Very rarely, patients may experience minor bruising.

Results last around 3-6 months, depending on the location of the treatment, your muscle activity and your body’s individual response.

While Botox and Dysport are both injectables (specifically, botulinum toxin injections) used to treat and prevent wrinkles, their chemical compositions are slightly different which can make one more effective than the other at specific injection sites. Neurotoxin injections are very common, low risk procedures. Headache, minor bruising or swelling at the injection site are the most common but still rare side effects. As with any treatment, there are always risks which your nurse injector will walk you through prior to treatment.
